Delivery — kerbside, on a pallet

Standard delivery is free to mainland UK addresses with no minimum spend and arrives within 3–5 working days. Your paving comes palletised on an 18-tonne tail-lift lorry, delivered kerbside: the driver lowers the pallet and moves it with a pump truck to the nearest safe hard-standing — your driveway or the kerb — but won't carry stone through the property, so please have help on hand. A handful of remote Highland and island postcodes may carry a surcharge, always shown at checkout before you pay.

Choose your delivery date

Free standard delivery gives a 3–5 working-day window. If you need a set day, pick nominated-day delivery (£39.00) for a chosen weekday, or Saturday delivery (£69.00) at checkout — the date picker shows the real available dates for your postcode. Full details on the delivery & guarantee page.

Breakage guarantee — 48-hour photo claim

Every pallet is covered. If anything arrives cracked, chipped or broken, take clear photos of the damaged slabs as delivered and send them with your order number within 48 hours of delivery. We send free replacements or credit the affected pieces — nothing to send back, no quibbling over a broken corner. See the breakage guarantee for the claim steps.

Returns basics

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you can cancel most online orders within 14 days of delivery and return the goods within a further 14 days for a refund. Goods must be unused and in a re-saleable condition, and you're responsible for return carriage of heavy goods unless they're faulty. Faulty or not-as-described goods are covered separately under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — the full policy is in our terms & conditions.

About this product

Product details

Our Travertino Grey 16mm porcelain paving slabs, also known as stone-effect porcelain paving, bring a subtle warmth and veined character to outdoor spaces, but without the maintenance demands of the natural travertine.

As part of our wider outdoor porcelain paving tiles collection and our 16mm porcelain slabs range, these slabs are built to be used as outdoor patio tiles, garden paving and outdoor kitchen tiles due to their low maintenance and durability in low to medium-footfall areas.

They are R11-rated anti-slip, frost-resistant and ideal for roof terraces, raised pedestal decks, balconies, and overlay projects, facing harsh British weather conditions.

Why Choose Travertino Grey 16mm Porcelain Paving

Here are some of the most prominent benefits of our 16mm Travertino paving slabs:

R11 Anti-Slip Rating

The slip resistance of these slabs is built into the surface texture, not applied as a wearable coating. R11 slip resistance means they have excellent foot grip in wet weather conditions, making them a dependable choice for terraces, poolside areas, and exposed outdoor surfaces. Explore our full anti-slip paving range for more options.

Frost and Weather Resistant

With a porosity of <0.5%, moisture cannot penetrate the slab surface. It means no cracking, lifting, expanding or surface spalling, even under freeze-thaw cycles, which is a genuine concern with natural travertine paving slabs.

Low Maintenance

Porcelain has very low water absorption capability, which means no algae, moss, or stains can seep into it. Routine cleaning is very straightforward; soapy water or a gentle pressure wash is all you need to keep the slabs like new, even after years of use.

Travertine Aesthetic, Without the Upkeep

Advanced porcelain printing technology has enabled Travertino grey porcelain to replicate the veining, tonal variation and warmth of natural travertine. Unlike real travertine, it will not pit, absorb sealant, or require re-treating. You get the natural look but with none of the ongoing maintenance costs.

Slimmer Profile, Same Visual Impact

At 16mm, these slabs are meaningfully lighter than their 20mm counterparts. They are practical in low to medium-traffic areas, roof terraces with load limits and anywhere where material needs to be carried by hand. The large format 900x600mm porcelain tile size and clean matte finish remain identical throughout.

Best Applications for 16mm Travertino Grey Porcelain Paving

16mm Travertino Grey can best be used in:

Roof Terraces and Balconies

These spaces have genuine structural load limit constraints; thus, the reduced weight of 16mm slabs over 20mm makes a huge difference.

Pedestal and Raised Deck Systems

The 16mm thickness aligns cleanly with pedestal frameworks, allowing level installation over uneven or sloped surfaces without excavation.

Overlay Installation

These slabs can be laid successfully over existing sound surfaces. The slimmer slab keeps the finished level manageable and transition heights sensible.

  • Standard Patios and Garden Paths: With proper bedding and mortar mix, these slabs perform extraordinarily well in ground-level applications. They are not limited to pedestal use.
  • Commercial and Hospitality Terraces: The combination of R11 slip resistance, low maintenance and consistent aesthetics makes these slabs a practical choice for restaurant terraces, hotel courtyards, and commercial outdoor spaces.

Considerations Before You Buy

  1. 16mm porcelain slabs require either a pedestal/raised system or a fully bonded mortar bed. They are not suitable for loose-lay or gravel-bed installation.
  2. Use flexible tile adhesive and exterior grout when bonding directly to a sub-base — standard sand and cement alone is not sufficient for porcelain.
  3. For roof terraces and balconies, confirm the structural load capacity with your builder or structural engineer before ordering.
  4. Order a £0.99 sample before committing to a full pack. Travertino finishes carry tonal variation that photographs don't always capture accurately; seeing it in your own space matters.

The honest bit

What to know before you order

Batches vary slightly

Porcelain is printed and fired, so it's far more consistent than natural stone — but shade can still shift a touch between production batches. Order your full quantity in one go where you can.

Dry-lay before you fix

Lay slabs out loose from mixed packs and stand back before anything is stuck down. Once it's fixed, it's yours — ten minutes of dry-laying is the cheapest insurance there is.

Wet looks different to dry

Every slab reads darker and richer when wet — and this is Britain, so it will be wet. Check your sample both ways before you commit.

Delivery is kerbside

Your order arrives palletised on a tail-lift lorry, placed on the nearest safe hard-standing. The driver won't carry slabs through the house — have a barrow and a second pair of hands ready.

Questions

Travertino Grey Porcelain — the essentials

How is Travertino Grey Porcelain delivered?

Standard delivery is free to mainland UK addresses with no minimum spend and arrives within 3–5 working days. Your order comes palletised on an 18-tonne tail-lift lorry and is delivered kerbside — the driver moves the pallet to the nearest safe hard-standing but won't carry slabs through the property, so have help on hand to move it. Need a set day? Choose nominated-day delivery (£39.00) or Saturday delivery (£69.00) at checkout.

Can I see Travertino Grey before I order a full pack?

Yes — order a £0.98 sample and it's posted next working day, so you can see and feel the exact surface in your own garden light before committing to a full order.

What happens if slabs arrive broken?

Every pallet is covered by our breakage guarantee. Photograph the damaged slabs as delivered and send the photos with your order number within 48 hours of delivery — we'll send free replacements or credit the affected pieces, with nothing for you to send back.

How much does one slab or pack cover?

Each 900×600mm slab covers 0.54 m², and a full pack of 52 slabs covers 28.08 m². Enter your area into the coverage calculator above and it rounds up to whole slabs and packs, with a 10% allowance for cuts and waste built in.

Is it slippery when wet?

This range is rated R11 — a slip-resistance class from the DIN 51130 ramp test, where the scale runs R9 (least grip) to R13 (most) and R11 is the common specification for UK patios and pool surrounds. The grip comes from a textured finish fired into the slab's surface, not a coating that can wear off.

Will every slab match the photos exactly?

Porcelain is printed and fired, so colour and pattern are far more consistent than natural stone — but slight shade variation between production batches is normal. Order your full quantity in one go where you can, work from mixed packs, and dry-lay a few slabs before fixing. Colours also read slightly darker when wet.
