Delivery — kerbside, on a pallet

Standard delivery is free to mainland UK addresses with no minimum spend and arrives within 3–5 working days. Your paving comes palletised on an 18-tonne tail-lift lorry, delivered kerbside: the driver lowers the pallet and moves it with a pump truck to the nearest safe hard-standing — your driveway or the kerb — but won't carry stone through the property, so please have help on hand. A handful of remote Highland and island postcodes may carry a surcharge, always shown at checkout before you pay.

Choose your delivery date

Free standard delivery gives a 3–5 working-day window. If you need a set day, pick nominated-day delivery (£39.00) for a chosen weekday, or Saturday delivery (£69.00) at checkout — the date picker shows the real available dates for your postcode. Full details on the delivery & guarantee page.

Breakage guarantee — 48-hour photo claim

Every pallet is covered. If anything arrives cracked, chipped or broken, take clear photos of the damaged slabs as delivered and send them with your order number within 48 hours of delivery. We send free replacements or credit the affected pieces — nothing to send back, no quibbling over a broken corner. See the breakage guarantee for the claim steps.

Returns basics

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you can cancel most online orders within 14 days of delivery and return the goods within a further 14 days for a refund. Goods must be unused and in a re-saleable condition, and you're responsible for return carriage of heavy goods unless they're faulty. Faulty or not-as-described goods are covered separately under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — the full policy is in our terms & conditions.

About this product

Product details

As a marble-effect porcelain paving slab, our Volkas Bianco porcelain tiles come in a creamy white base with soft grey veining and a finish that makes an outdoor space feel considered rather than just functional.

If you want a marble look without the maintenance, sealing requirements, and unpredictable surface variations of real marble stone, this is where most projects should start.

As part of our outdoor porcelain tiles and our 16mm porcelain paving range, the Volkas Bianco 16mm slabs are available for immediate dispatch.

The Difference Between Volkas Bianco 16mm and 20mm

Both thicknesses have the same marble effect finish, anti-slip and weather-resistant capabilities with the lowest maintenance possible. The practical difference is in its load tolerance and installation methods.

16mm Thickness

Best for: Pedestal systems, roof terraces, overlay installations

Weight: Lighter; easier to handle on restricted sites

Sub-base Requirements: Pedestal system or fully bonded mortar bed

Pieces per Large Pack: 52 slabs

20mm Thickness

Best for: Ground-level patios, paths, high-footfall areas

Why Choose Volkas Bianco 16mm Marble-Effect Porcelain Paving

Marble Look, Without the Marble Problems: Natural marble outdoors stains, etches, absorbs water, and demands regular sealing. Volkas Bianco porcelain replicates the veining and tonal depth of white marble with a consistent look, wear resistance and no sealing requirements.

R11 Slip Resistance: The surface texture provides genuine grip underfoot in wet conditions. The texture is built into the tile itself rather than applied as a coating. For a wider selection of slip-resistant options across different finishes, see our non-slip paving range.

Weather Resistant: With water absorption below 0.5%, these slabs resist moisture penetration across all seasons. No cracking, no surface spalling, no colour shift, even through a hard British winter.

Fade Resistant: The marble-effect colouring runs through the porcelain body. UV exposure does not bleach or dull the finish, which matters for south-facing patios and poolside installations that take full sun.

Low Maintenance: No sealants. No specialist cleaning products. Soapy water or a light pressure wash is sufficient. Unlike limestone, travertine, or real marble, porcelain gives algae and moss very little surface to take hold.

Neutral Palette That Works With Most Schemes: The creamy white and light grey tones of Volkas Bianco sit well alongside contemporary rendered walls, natural timber decking, and planted borders. It's versatile enough to suit both traditional and modern garden designs.

Best Applications for 16mm Volkas Bianco Porcelain Paving

  • Patios and Garden Terraces: The 900x600mm marble-inspired finish creates a clean, uninterrupted surface across patio areas.
  • Roof Terraces and Balconies: The reduced weight of 16mm is meaningful across larger surface areas where structural load limits apply.
  • Pedestal and Raised Deck Systems: The 16mm profile integrates cleanly with adjustable pedestal frameworks for level installation over sloped or uneven substrates.
  • Pool Surrounds: The R11 slip rating and water-resistant surface make Volkas Bianco a practical choice for poolside areas
  • Overlay Installations: Where laying over an existing sound surface is preferable to full excavation, the slimmer slab keeps finished levels manageable.
  • Outdoor Dining Areas and Courtyards: The stone-effect finish brings an understated elegance to outdoor dining and entertaining spaces without requiring the upkeep that natural stone would demand.

Considerations Before You Buy

  1. 16mm porcelain slabs must be installed on a pedestal/raised system or a fully bonded mortar bed. They are not suitable for loose-lay or gravel-bed installation.
  2. Use flexible tile adhesive and exterior grout when bonding to a sub-base. Standard sand and cement are not a reliable bond for porcelain, and are at risk of slab movement over time.
  3. For roof terraces and balconies, confirm structural load capacity with your builder or structural engineer before placing an order.
  4. The marble-effect surface has natural tonal variation between slabs. This is characteristic of the finish, not a quality defect.

Order a £0.99 sample to see the colour and veining in your own space and under your own light conditions before committing to a full pack.

The honest bit

What to know before you order

Batches vary slightly

Porcelain is printed and fired, so it's far more consistent than natural stone — but shade can still shift a touch between production batches. Order your full quantity in one go where you can.

Dry-lay before you fix

Lay slabs out loose from mixed packs and stand back before anything is stuck down. Once it's fixed, it's yours — ten minutes of dry-laying is the cheapest insurance there is.

Wet looks different to dry

Every slab reads darker and richer when wet — and this is Britain, so it will be wet. Check your sample both ways before you commit.

Delivery is kerbside

Your order arrives palletised on a tail-lift lorry, placed on the nearest safe hard-standing. The driver won't carry slabs through the house — have a barrow and a second pair of hands ready.

Questions

Volkas Bianco Porcelain — the essentials

How is Volkas Bianco Porcelain delivered?

Standard delivery is free to mainland UK addresses with no minimum spend and arrives within 3–5 working days. Your order comes palletised on an 18-tonne tail-lift lorry and is delivered kerbside — the driver moves the pallet to the nearest safe hard-standing but won't carry slabs through the property, so have help on hand to move it. Need a set day? Choose nominated-day delivery (£39.00) or Saturday delivery (£69.00) at checkout.

Can I see Volkas Bianco before I order a full pack?

Yes — order a £0.98 sample and it's posted next working day, so you can see and feel the exact surface in your own garden light before committing to a full order.

What happens if slabs arrive broken?

Every pallet is covered by our breakage guarantee. Photograph the damaged slabs as delivered and send the photos with your order number within 48 hours of delivery — we'll send free replacements or credit the affected pieces, with nothing for you to send back.

How much does one slab or pack cover?

Each 900×600mm slab covers 0.54 m², and a full pack of 20 slabs covers 10.8 m². Enter your area into the coverage calculator above and it rounds up to whole slabs and packs, with a 10% allowance for cuts and waste built in.

Is it slippery when wet?

This range is rated R11 — a slip-resistance class from the DIN 51130 ramp test, where the scale runs R9 (least grip) to R13 (most) and R11 is the common specification for UK patios and pool surrounds. The grip comes from a textured finish fired into the slab's surface, not a coating that can wear off.

Will every slab match the photos exactly?

Porcelain is printed and fired, so colour and pattern are far more consistent than natural stone — but slight shade variation between production batches is normal. Order your full quantity in one go where you can, work from mixed packs, and dry-lay a few slabs before fixing. Colours also read slightly darker when wet.
