Before porcelain took over, riven Indian sandstone was the nation's favourite paving — hard-wearing, naturally slip-resistant, with subtle tonal variation no two slabs share. It is still a genuine choice: cheaper up front and lovely underfoot, though as a porous stone it benefits from sealing on lay and every few years. We keep it as our heritage range.
